1. System Engineer - Project Manager  

 
The Rhea Group is looking for an experienced (minimum 5 years experience) System Engineer/Project manager.
The candidate shall interface with the customer from the initial discussions through the whole project lifecycle, identifying the customer’s needs and wishes and translating this in an offer, a contract and a project.  During the project the candidate shall keep close interaction with customer and project team until and after the final delivery.
The candidate needs to be able to work independently, be ready to take responsibility and initiate action.
She/he will work directly under the strategic office of the RheaGroup.
The industry and projects envisaged for the candidate to be active in are:

• Security
• Long Term data storage
• Space
• Defence

2. Concurrent Design & System Engineer 

 

Function:

 

Support J-CDS and its customers in the following fields:

  • Concurrent Design Tools:
    • Provide support to design teams on the use of Concurrent Design tools (i.e. interlinked set of MS Excel workbooks with links to central data repository)
    • Support and lead the maintenance and development on the those tools using
      • VBA
      • VB6
      • VSTO (C#)
  • System Of Systems design:
    • Participate in CD activities related to System Of Systems (SoS) and Architecture Design, participate in studies as SoS Manager/ Architect support.
    • Work on architecture modelling using TOGAF, System Architect (IBM) and use Focal Point (IBM) for alternative architecture identification.
  • Software development:
    • Data modelling (in UML, SysML), software development, user requirement definition, testing etc.
    • Using opensource software packages/tools to design/develop professional products.

 

Required expertise:

 

Engineering:

  • (space) System Engineering experience
  • Architecture Framework and modelling experience (TOGAF, NAF, DODAF, MODAF)
  • Concurrent Design and Engineering experience is a plus
  • ECSS standards knowledge is a plus
  • Requirements engineering expertise is a plus

Software experience:

  • Information and data modelling
    • UML,
    • SysML
    • XML
  • Expert in developing applications in and interfacing with MS Office 2003, 2007 and 2010
    • VBA

3. Concurrent Design Expert & Business development Manager

 

THIS POSITION IS FILLED IN !!!!

 

J-CDS is looking for a professional (M/F) with 2 main strengths:

  • Concurrent Design expert (theory and hands-on)
  • Business Development Manager

The tasks can be summarized as:

  • Implement the CD method in industries. Including lead CD teams and sessions, process customization, tool design and user requirements definition.
  • Develop the J-CDS business as a sales representative as well as plan and execute the strategic business development activities.

This role is a vital role in the J-CDS organisation.

The successful candidate shall be based in the Netherlands region The Hague. 

 

Required specific expertise

 

  • +10 years of experience in space industry
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience related to Concurrent Engineering/Design and in specific European Space Agency’s Concurrent Design method and tools (ESA IDM, OCDS, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience related to System Of System architecture methodologies (TOGAF, NAF , etc.) and tools (System Architect IBM; Focal Point IBM, etc).
  • Affection with space spin-off and spin-in.
  • Extensive European industrial network
  • Business development (Europe, Canada) 
  • Project management
  • Bid management (EC, ESA, industry)
  • English and Dutch required,  French is a bonus.

4. Satellite System Engineer

 

THIS POSITION IS FILLED IN !!!! BUT FEEL FREE TO SUBMIT YOUR CV ANYWAY.

 

J-CDS is looking for a Space System Engineer. This new J-CDS team member will support the system engineer and project manager of a design team of a small satellite that is preparing to go into Phase B.

The satellite project has two goals:

  • Scientific: Search for Inner Earth Objects with an optical Instrument
  • Engineering: Gain experience at the customer site to design, build and operate a satellite.

The satellite will be further developed and integrated at the customer’s site.

 

Profile

 

We are looking for people with Space System Engineering skills, Project Management skills and preferably Concurrent Design experience. Relevant practical knowledge as a Space System Engineer is a plus, preferably up to Phase B.

 

Systems and strategic thinking, innovation and creativity are considered important for the candidate. Candidates should also possess good communication skills, problem solving skills and be able to manage relationships, work in a team and be self motivating and disciplined. The satellite design team is geopgraphicaly distributed and this poses extra challenges for the project management and system team.

 

The working language of the project is English but a good understanding of German is considered a plus.

 

Tasks

  • Analysis and specification of the system and subsystems
  • Organisation of and support to Concurrent Design sessions during Phase B
  • Creation of relevant system level documentation
  • Provide support to Project Management to maintain items such as

    5. Software Trainee positions

     

    Task

    We are looking for trainees or thesis students that can help us in the enhancement of the J-CDS Concurrent Design Platform (CDP) software. Internally we already have pretty good ideas of how we need to implement these enhancements so do not worry if you don't immediately understand what is listed here below. The required software knowledge mentioned later is of main importance.

     

    The follwing enhancements are required:

    • Creation of an IFC (Construction/building industry standard for the exchange of 3D model files) import and export in the CDP.
    • Creation of an European Space Agency Concurrent Design Integrated Design Model  (ESA CDF IDM) import and export in the CDP.
    • Support to the implementation of the next version of the CDP using C#
    • ASP.NET MVC implementation of the CDP webportal

    Required Expertise

    • Skilled in MS Excel, VBA, .NET, JAVA, VSTO 
    • Skilled in SQL and RDBMS
    • Skilled in Webservices
    • knowledge of IFC, STEP is a plus

6. Trainee positions for Oil&Gas, Offshore Students  

Task

We are looking for a team of 2 trainees that will work as a team, although both looking at their own specific subject within the Oil&Gas and/or Offshore. We think that both subjects will anyway have many overlaps.

Set-up the basis for a conceptual design level Integrated Design Model for Oil&Gas Offshore industry, this includes:

 

  • Identification of the disciplines involved in the design of an offshore oilrig, offshore windmill-farm or underwater robotic cabling infrastructures (the choice is yours, we will select the most capable candidate).
  • Identification of the parameters that each of the disciplines need from the other disciplines to perform a conceptual design of its discipline.
  • Identification of the basic calculations/models needed to describe each discipline.
  • Creation of basic discipline models in MS Excel.

 

Required Expertise

  • Good overall knowledge of the offshore oilrig or offshore windmill-farm or underwater robotic cabling infrastructures design/building process.
  • Good overall knowledge about the disciplines involved in the design.
  • Good knowledge about the parameters needed to be exchanged amongst the disciplines to come to a conceptual design.
  • Skilled in MS Excel and Visual Basic for Applications
  • Knowledge of SQL and RDMS is a bonus
